Management Alessandro PansaChairman Alessandro Pansa, chairman Ansaldo STS since 2006, is also, since July 2001, Chief Financial Officer and since October 2004 Co- General Manager of Finmeccanica, one of the largest Italian industrial groups, in charge of Finance, Planning and Control, Administration, Tax Planning, Investor Relations and M&A and Corporate Development. Previously he was Managing Director and Partner of Lazard, an investment bank, where leaded several deals with the largest Italian stateowned and private companies as ENEL, Wind Telecomunicazioni, Poste Italiane, Ferrovie dello Stato, Italian Treasury Ministery, etc. Before Lazard, Alessandro Pansa worked at Euromobiliare and Vitale Borghesi, both Italian investment banks. Alessandro Pansa was born in 1962, has a degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and attended the Graduate School of Business Administration of New York University. Sergio De LucaChief Executive Officer Sergio De Luca was born in Zungoli (Avellino) on 3/9/1950. He has a degree in electrotechnical engineering from the Politecnico University of Turin. He began to work for the Finmeccanica Group subsidiary Ansaldo – Società Generale Elettromeccanica in 1975. From 1981 to 1996 he held various important positions within Ansaldo Trasporti’s Signalling Division. In 1996, following the spin-off of Ansaldo Trasporti’s three divisions (Vehicles, Systems and Signalling) into separate companies, he joined Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario, where he became CEO in 1998. Since 2006, he has also served as Managing Director of Ansaldo Trasporti Sistemi Ferroviari. In June 2007 Mr. De Luca is appointed CEO of the Ansaldo STS Group. In 2009, the two companies controlled in Italy are incorporated into Ansaldo STS, which, by means of this operation, does no longer act as an industrial holding, becoming an operating company organized in two business units. Mr. De Luca has authored many technical papers, and has lectured at the university of Turin. Alberto MilvioChief Financial Officer Alberto Milvio was born in Milan in 1959 where he graduated in Economics from Bocconi University. Since 1984 he covered different roles and responsibilities in Administration Finance and Control Areas in various business sectors. He started at Eridania-Beghin Say in Genoa and then moved to the Telecom Italia Group where he served as Director of Planning and Control of Stet International. After a two-years experience in a telecommunication start-up as Finance Director, he joined Finmeccanica in 2002 as Investment Manager with the specific task to evaluate and execute M&A projects. In 2005 he joined Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems, a Finmeccanica company, as Chief Financial Officer and then Group Strategy Director. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Ansaldo STS in August 2009. Lyle JacksonPresident Transportation Solutions Lyle Jackson was born in Gladstone, Australia in 1954. He has an extensive background in engineering, project and business management and has held senior management positions in the technology sector of the rail industry for more than 30 years. In 1983 Lyle established an entrepreneurial start-up company in the railway technology sector called Ventura Projects. He rapidly expanded the business operations of this Australian company into several regional export markets. In 1995 Ventura Projects was acquired by Union Switch & Signal of the USA, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Ansaldo STS SpA. Lyle was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of US&S’s Asia Pacific operations, with full profit and loss responsibility and a mandate to grow a sustainable regional presence in the Pacific region, Indian subcontinent, South East Asia and Central and Southern Africa. Lyle has extensive international experience from start-up to leading businesses in the fast growth markets of Australia, India, South East Asia and Southern Africa, and has a demonstrated track record in business development in multicultural/global environments. On 1 January 2010, Lyle Jackson was appointed President - Transportation Solutions with a mandate to build upon Ansaldo STS’s position as a leading European transportation solutions provider, to become a credible, competitive and sustainable worldwide provider of Transportation Solutions. Maurizio Manfellotto President of the Standard Products & Platforms Unit Maurizio Manfellotto was born in Naples on 6 October 1952. After graduating in naval and mechanical engineering from the Politecnico di Napoli, he moved to Trieste in 1978 to join Italcantieri (now Fincantieri), initially as a head of design in the Technical Department of the Military Division, before becoming a project manager. In 1985 he was taken on by Ansaldo Trasporti as a project manager, widening his experience by heading up the Planning and Cost Control Unit of the Signalling Department before assuming the responsibility of order and procurement management. He continued in this role between 1996 and 2006 at the new Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario. In 2007 he was appointed Head of Italian Signalling. On 1 January 2010, Maurizio Manfellotto will take over the role of President of Standard Products & Platforms at Ansaldo STS. Emmanuel ViolletPresident Signalling Emmanuel Viollet was born in 1950 in Germany and graduated in Engineering with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Since July 2003, he has been Deputy Chairman of the Business Development Division at Ansaldo Signal. From 1988, he has covered positions of responsibility such as Director of the division of Engineering and Product Development and VP Marketing, Sales & Asia Major Contracts in CSEE Transport, thus gaining great experience in the signalling business. He chaired the Marketing and Sales Committee at Ansaldo Signal. He was appointed Senior Deputy Chairman "Marketing" of Ansaldo STS in February 2006. From January 1st 2010, Emmanuel Viollet is the new President Signalling of Ansaldo STS. Alan E. CalegariCEO Ansaldo STS USA Dr. Calegari is the President and CEO of Ansaldo STS USA. He brings more than thirty years of experience in leadership positions in the fields of management, security, building automation, automotive, transportation and government to the organization. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Security Industry Association. Prior to his current position, Dr. Calegari was active across a broad spectrum of senior leadership roles, most notably as President and CEO for Americas Region of Dedicated Micros Inc., President and Regional Head of Siemens Building Technologies, Inc’s Security Division, and other executive and advisory capacities at Siemens Building Technologies Ltd., Canada. He has had a successful career history with Johnson Controls Inc. and Pan Am World Services, Inc. Overall, he has served in executive positions with multinational corporations in 13 countries and is fluent in 5 languages. Dr. Calegari holds a Doctorate in Management from the University of Studies in Rome-Loyola University Foreign Exchange Program. He completed an Executive Advanced International Business Management Program from Harvard University – George F. Baker Foundation, and various leadership programs. He is also a retired United States Marine Corps aviator officer. Carlo CremonaSenior Vice President Human Resources Carlo Cremona was born in Segni (Rome) in 1952. A law graduate, he began working in the HR field in 1980, with companies including Sopal, Alumix, Comsal and Alcoa, taking on significant responsibilities from 1984 onwards. He joined the Finmeccanica group in 1996 as Head of HR at Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie before taking up the same post at Ansaldo Trasporti, Ansaldobreda and Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario. In March 2007 he was appointed Head of Human Resources and Business Improvement at Ansaldo STS. Mario OrlandoCompany Secretary a General Counsel He was born in Genoa in 1952 and graduated in Law. He began working at the division of General and Legal Affairs of Elsag in Genoa where he became the Head in 1987. He participated in the acquisition of Bailey Controls and other M&A activities, coordinated the quotation of Elsag Bailey Process Automation N.V. on the NYSE and became Secretary of the Supervisory Board. In 1999, he was nominated Head of the Legal Department of Ansaldo. On January 1st 2002, he moved to Finmeccanica where he assumed the role of Head of Legal, Tributary and Business Affairs until September 2005 when he was appointed Senior Advisor of the General Co-Director of Finmeccanica. He is a Director of the Board in many of the partner companies of the group which refer to Finmeccanica. Since 2003, he has been Vice-President of Confindustria in Genoa. He was appointed Company Secretary a General Counsell of Ansaldo STS in February 2006. Christian AndiSenior Vice President Std., Process, Quality & IT Services Christian Andi graduated in Economy and Commerce. He worked for Arthur Andersen as Senior Auditor until 2001 and then for SIEI SpA as Head of Planning & Control. He began working for Ansaldo Signal in December 2002 in the Internal Audit department and was appointed Head of the Group of Internal Auditing in 2004. He was appointed Vice President of Internal Audit of Ansaldo STS in February 2006 and in June 2008 became Vice President Processes, Quality & Systems. Within this function he has been assigned with the responsibility of managing group change programs. On 1 January 2010, Christian Andi will take over the role of Senior Vice President Std., Process, Quality & IT Services at Ansaldo STS. Giovanni BocchettiSenior VP Innovation & Competitiveness Born in 1953. Degree in Electrical Engineering from University “Federico II” of Naples in 1977. After one year in Telecom group Italtel, he began to work in 1978 for Finmeccanica Group subsidiary Ansaldo, Transportation Division, and then Ansaldo Trasporti, where he became, in 1992, Director of the Engineering and Development Department of the Rolling Stock Division. He remained in Rolling Stock field until 2005 and during this period gave a great contribution to the development of the most advanced Italian railway vehicles such as the first Italian asynchronous motor locomotive and the High Speed Train ETR500. He is also author of many technical papers, presented in the most important international electronic and railway conferences. Giovanni Bocchetti joined Ansaldo STS in 2006 where he became in 2007 VP Business Innovation. From 1 January 2010, Giovanni Bocchetti holds the position of Senior VP Innovation and Competitiveness. Mauro GigantiSenior VP Internal Audit Born in 1964 in San Remo. A business economics graduate, chartered accountant and auditor, Mr Giganti joined Ansaldo Signal in October 2002 as the Head of Internal Audit. In July 2004 he became Head of Administration and Finance department at Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario, and then on 1 January 2008 he became Head of Administration and Deputy CFO at Ansaldo Trasporti-Sistemi Ferroviari. He has been Vice-President Internal Audit of Ansaldo STS since June 2008. Until September 2002, he was senior manager at a major auditing firm, where he carried out audit and due diligence procedures, as well as providing other advisory services to clients based in Italy and abroad. He has also worked with the technical department at the head office in Milan. He was formerly a visiting professor at the University of Genoa, and has given lessons for the auditing course at the University of Milan-Bicocca, as well as for several specialist accounting and auditing courses. Roberto PassalacquaVice President of Risk Management of Ansaldo STS He was born in Genoa in 1960, he has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Genoa and a Master Degree (M. Phil) from the University of Birmingham. He began to work in 1985 and has achieved an extensive background in engineering, proposal and project management during more then 20 years of activities in the filed of railway and mass transit projects. With ABB and Adtranz after various experiences in engineering and marketing he took the role of Project Manager of the Eurotram for the City of Strasbourg. In 1997 he joined Ansaldo Trasporti where he was involved in engineering and proposal coordination of Transportation Systems Projects, he worked in Ireland as Project Engineer of the Dublin LRT and in 2006 he was appointed Project Manager of Ansaldo STS for the Project Financing of Metro Milan Line 5. Since November 2009 he is Vice President of Risk Management of Ansaldo STS. Giuseppe SpezziVP HSE and Facility Management Giuseppe Spezzi graduated in mechanical engineering in 1978 from the Politecnico di Torino (Turin) and was admitted to the Turin Register of Engineers the same year. In June 1978 he joined WABCO Westinghouse Compagnia Italiana Segnali in Turin as a permanent employee in the post of Electromechanical Designer, and in 1981 was appointed Head of Electromechanical Design. In 1984 he was put in charge of the construction of a new facility in Tito Scalo (Potenza), where in April 1986 he became Head of Production and Technologies for WABCO Westinghouse Segnalamento Ferroviario. In January 1990 he was made Deputy General Manager at WABCO Westinghouse C.I.S. Piossasco (Turin). In July 1991 he was appointed Head of Production at Ansaldo Trasporti’s Italian Signalling Unit. In March 1992, he joined the works management as Production and Site Manager for the Signalling and Automation business unit. He was subsequently transferred, in the same post, to Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario SpA in October 1996, following the transfer to that company of Ansaldo Trasporti SpA’s railway signalling business. Since May 1998 he has been Head of Production and Logistics, and in March 2007 was put in charge of Industrial Competitiveness at Ansaldo STS. Since January 1, 2010, Mr Spezzi holds the position of VP HSE and Facility Management. Davide CucinoCountry Representative Officer Executive Director of Ansaldo Beijing Railway System Trading (Beijing) Ltd. is also, since the beginning of 2006 the Head of Operations in China of Finmeccanica. In 1997 he has been appointed China Operation Manager of Finmeccanica solely owned Fata SpA Beijing Representative Office, and previously he was consultant for a number of companies operating in the Chinese market. Since 2002 is Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and since 2006 is Member of the Board of Assocamerestero, the Association of the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad. He is also currently member of China Advisory Council under the EU Program Understanding China, in Brussels. In 2005 he has been awarded the Presidential decoration of “Cavaliere Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana”. He has participated as speaker to several seminars and forums organized by various organizations, among them Aspen, BMW Foundation’s Young Asia Leaders Forum, Confindustria, Confartigianato, EU-China Business Dialogue, Invitalia, etc. Born in Vicenza in 1966, he is graduated at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice in Oriental Studies with highest honors.
