Accessibility

 
The new AnsaldoSTS site was designed and created in accordance with the accessibility guidelines set out in the WAI international standard of the W3C, in compliance with WCAG 1.0-A accessibility requirements.

The principles that guided the construction of the site were defined both on the basis of the W3C's WAI guidelines, and bearing in mind the advice and operating recommendations given by final users in test sessions.

Some of the options proposed by the automatic validators have not been implemented on the express suggestion of individuals using screen readers.In particular, the site’s layout tables and all the insignificant graphical elements do not have an alternative description.These are layout rather than content elements that do not need to be read.

To improve the site’s usability, some accesskeys were defined to enable users to reach a specific link by pressing a sequence of keys.These "short cuts" may be activated in Windows by pressing "Alt + Accesskey", or, for Mac users, by pressing "Ctrl + Accesskey".

The following accesskeys have been defined for all pages on the site:

ALT+x – Go to the page contents
ALT+s – Services menu
ALT+y – Institutional menu
ALT+z – Commercial menu
ALT+k – Second-level menu

Since complete accessibility is an ongoing process, some pages on the site may not conform to the above-mentioned standards.

While we try to deal with these discrepancies, please inform us of any irregularity to enable us to deal with it as soon as possible.
