Ansaldo STS wins contract for Toronto subway line

Ansaldo STS (STS, MI), through its subsidiary “Union Switch & Signal”, has been awarded by the Toronto Transit Commission (TCC) a contract valued at $13.9 million USD to design, supply, and install a new wayside signaling system for the South Yonge project area of the Yonge-University-Spadina Line (YUS), Toronto’s oldest and busiest subway line. The South Yonge area consists of approximately 10 km of mainline track and portions of the Davisville Yard. The area is divided into three interlocking zones and includes 15 stations. The contract is specified for completion for 3rd quarter of 2012.
