Top Employers 2012
Finmeccanica confirms itself, once again, among the companies excelling in the areas of training, development and human resource management. Indeed, the Group has achieved the "Top Employer 2012" certification in two countries, Italy and the UK, improving on the result attained in 2011, when the honour was awarded just to the Italian zone.
This certification was awarded by the CRF Institute, the international organization that studies and rewards those companies commendable and deserving for recognizing the value of human capital and for their Best Practices in the HR field, publishing every year a report in each of the countries where it operates (12 countries in 4 continents).
The analysis was performed using the standards of the Top Employers HR Best Practice Survey , a questionnaire designed to investigate a wide range of HR policies, as well as using interviews with representatives of the various target company populations. Based on the results of this analysis phase, an evaluation rating with a scale of excellence from 1 to 5 was drawn up.
The criteria applied this year, which led to the certification of 38 companies in Italy and 67 in the United Kingdom, were: Primary Benefits, Secondary Benefits and Working Conditions, Company Culture, Training and Development, Career Development.

What are the main facts that emerged? In the first two areas, Italy recorded excellent results, which highlight the focus on people, not only in terms of pay and benefits, but also in terms of work life balance, reconciling professional and family lives. Also good are the results for the United Kingdom, which, it should be noted, is confronted with a "market" which is more mature and competitive in the analysed areas.
But Finmeccanica distinguished itself above all for:
- A Group culture which, while respecting the territorial specificities, is able to offer a comprehensive view of values, behaviours and competencies that everyone can identify with;
- An integrated and international system of Development and Training that follows people from the moment they join the company until they reach, potentially, top management;
- The opportunities for growth within it, in an environment that allows everyone to express their potential, but where only the best may emerge.
What makes Finmeccanica a TOP company is thus the recognition of merit, the transparency of career paths and the attention to young people, qualities that have allowed the achievement, both in Italy and the in UK, of this prestigious, internationally accredited, "seal of quality".
