The Interlocking system which manages the mobilization and location of trains in the stations and traffic junctions; |
The ATC (Automatic Train Control) system which ensures the safe traffic of trains along the lines. The high level of system automation allows engine-drivers to correct or avoid mistakes, and imposes a speed limit for trains on the basis of traffic conditions with the possibility of stops before arriving at destination. This system is enhanced when applied to high-speed lines so it is primarily at the service of those trains which travel at speeds between 300 and 350km/h |
The CTC (Centralized Traffic Control) system which allows for monitoring and tele-control of trains and subway traffic. The latter can manage a single line or the whole transport network as well as the optimization of traffic. |

With regard to the enlargement of the signalling product portfolio, Ansaldo STS has created, developed and is further developing a series of innovation products over recent years. Among these is the new OTP (Optimized Traffic Planner) system for railway traffic management and mobilization which permits the detection of vehicles along the railway line in real time. The system is valuable for optimizing the traffic by identifying the shortest and most efficient tracts for those trains which are expected to circulate at specific times of the year. It was developed by Union Switch & Signal. for the market of the main railways in the United States, which are currently saturated from the point of view of the transport capacity. |
