Ansaldo STS (STS. MI) today signed a contract with the General Directorate of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) to design, build and put into operation signalling and telecommunications equipment for the two railway lines Bogazköprü-Ulukisla-Yenice and Mersin-Toprakkale. The CEO of Ansaldo STS, Sergio De Luca, and the General Director of TCDD, Suleyman Karaman, were present at the signing.
The contract was awarded to Ansaldo STS in mid-October, and is worth EUR 126 million. It will give the company a significant foothold on the Turkish market, currently one of the most active in the rail and metro transport sectors.
